We anchor a bit further from the sandbank, because it has a quite large lagoon and a lot of corals in front of the beach, so we are about 200 m from the beach in 5 – 10 m depth

This beach, surrounded by water on all sides, is completely free.

Sandbanks are mainly formed by water currents and sea waves that move sand and other sediments to the bottom of a sea, river, or lake.
Pwakuu Sandbank is the furthest drift beach from Stone Town. The distance means the sandbank is almost always empty and just for us, and the coral surrounding it provides an incredible snorkeling experience.
